About
Malachy McCrimmon (they/them) is a post-digital artist whose practice is centred around recontextualizing painting, drawing and collage in the contemporary art world. Their work exists within a tension between old and new, often materialising as snapshot-clashes where the natural and the technological collide. Beyond the chaotic compositions of their work lies an absurd truth of a world continuously experiencing transformation.

A painter, doom-scroller, and internet troll, McCrimmon is intent on disrupting the traditionalist contemporary art world with brain rot, meme culture, and post-digital confusion. In their work, the conflict between old and new often manifests as natural against technological; a stance which articulates their materials, methods and process. Within this liminal space, McCrimmon creates dense, layered works in which the chaotic noise of the post-internet condition and the decay of the natural world become indistinguishable from one another.
